Add a Vimeo video to a Help Center article
Embed a standard or unlisted Vimeo video directly into your Help Center article using the Insert Video dialog in the article editor's formatting toolbar
You can embed a standard or unlisted Vimeo video directly in a Help Center article from the editor's "Insert Video" dialog. You need access to an editable Help Center, and the article has to be open in an editable view. A read-only article or translation preview won't let you edit.
Open the article
-
Open your Help Center
In the left sidebar under "Knowledge," click the name of the Help Center you want to edit. Its article workspace opens. -
Open the article
In the Help Center's article list or group tree, click the article's title. The article opens in the editor.
Insert the Vimeo video
-
Open the Insert Video dialog
In the article editor's formatting toolbar, click the "Insert Video" button. The "Insert Video" dialog opens with the subtitle "Embed a video from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, or Google Drive." -
Paste your Vimeo link
Enter or paste the Vimeo link in the "Video URL" field. The link needs a numeric video ID in its path. The dialog accepts these forms:- Standard links, such as vimeo.com/123456
- Unlisted links with a privacy hash in the path, such as vimeo.com/123456/abcdef
- Unlisted links with the privacy hash as an h query parameter
- player.vimeo.com/video links
You don't need to type https://. The field adds it for you.
-
Check the preview
When the dialog recognizes the link, it shows "Vimeo detected" and tells you the video will use Vimeo's player. A "Preview" with the embedded video appears below. If you pasted an unlisted link, the privacy hash is kept in the embed link, so the unlisted video still plays. The "Insert Video" button stays disabled until the link can be converted to an embed. If the Vimeo URL is invalid or can't be converted, you won't be able to insert it. If you paste a link from another site, you'll see "Unsupported platform" and "Only YouTube, Vimeo, Loom, and Google Drive videos are supported."
-
Insert the video
Click "Insert Video." The dialog closes and the video appears in the article at your insertion point. The editor now shows "Unsaved changes" and a "Save" button. -
Save the article
Click "Save" in the unsaved-changes bar. The editor stays on the article, and the video is now part of the saved article content.
