Insert HappySupport Article Links into Intercom Replies
Insert HappySupport article links into Intercom replies by searching your Help Center and selecting articles to embed in messages.
You can search your HappySupport Help Center from Intercom's reply composer and drop an article link straight into your reply. This inserts the link only, not the article body. You'll need the AI Article Recorder (see "How to Install the AI Article Recorder") and a signed-in HappySupport account.
Open the article picker
-
Open a conversation in Intercom
Go to app.intercom.com, open Inbox, and select the conversation you want to reply to so its reply composer is visible. -
Click "Insert HappySupport article"
In the composer toolbar, click the icon-only button next to Intercom's own Articles button. The picker opens over the conversation and matches Intercom's theme. -
Sign in if prompted
If you're not signed in to HappySupport, the picker shows "Sign in to search your articles" instead of results. Click "Sign in to HappySupport", sign in on the HappySupport login page, then go back to the Intercom reply composer and click "Insert HappySupport article" again.
Find and insert an article link
-
Search for an article
Type at least three characters from the article's title or content into the search field . Shorter text doesn't run a search. If nothing matches, you'll see "No articles found". If the search fails, the preview pane shows "Search failed" along with the error message. -
Select and preview an article
Results are grouped under a Help Center name or "Not in a Help Center". The first result is selected automatically. Click another result to see its title and content in the preview pane, including embedded step players and videos. If a full preview isn't available, you'll see a short teaser instead. -
Check that the article has a link
Only published articles placed in a Help Center group have a public link. Internal articles carry an "Internal" badge, and their preview shows one of two labels:- "Internal · share link": the article has a share link, so you can insert it.
- "Internal · not linkable": the article has no link to insert.
-
Insert the link
With the article selected, press Enter or double-click the result. The picker closes, the article title appears in your reply as a link, and the composer is focused again so you can keep typing. You can also use the Up and Down arrow keys to move through results, or press Esc to close the picker without inserting anything. If you try to insert an internal article that isn't linkable, nothing gets inserted and a brief notice tells you there's no public link to insert.
-
Paste the link if insertion fails
If the reply composer is no longer available or the link can't be inserted, the extension copies the URL to your clipboard. A notice saying the link was copied appears for about four seconds. Paste the URL into your reply yourself. If copying fails too, you'll see "Could not insert the link."
