How to Install the AI Article Recorder Chrome extension

This guide will walk you through installing the AI Article Recorder Chrome extension, which allows you to create help articles by recording your actions on screen. By the end of this process, you'll have the extension installed, pinned to your toolbar, and ready to use.

Installing the Extension

First open the HappySupport Recorder listing in the Chrome Store: HappySupport Recorder Chrome extension.

1. Add the extension to Chrome
   On the Chrome Web Store page for AI Article Recorder, click the blue "Hinzufügen" (Add) button located near the top right of the extension listing.

2. Confirm the installation
   A permission dialog will appear asking you to confirm the installation. Click the blue "Erweiterung hinzufügen" (Add extension) button to proceed. The extension requires permission to read and change data on websites to capture screenshots and record your actions.

Setting Up the Extension

3. Access the extension
   After installation, click the AI Article Recorder icon (orange square with a smiling face) that appears in your browser toolbar to the right of the address bar.

4. Pin the extension for easy access
   Click the Extensions puzzle piece icon in your toolbar to open the extensions menu. Find AI Article Recorder in the list and click the pin icon next to it. This ensures the extension icon remains visible in your toolbar at all times.

   

5. Confirm the pin
   Click the pin icon again if needed to ensure it's properly pinned. The extension should now appear permanently in your toolbar.

6. Open the extension
   Click the Extensions puzzle piece icon once more to verify your setup is complete.

Signing In

7. Login to HappySupport
   Click the AI Article Recorder extension icon in your toolbar. In the popup that appears, click the orange "Login with HappySupport" button to authenticate with your existing account. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one using the "Create account" link at the bottom of the login window.

Your AI Article Recorder extension is now installed, pinned to your toolbar, and ready to use. You can start recording help articles by clicking the extension icon and following the prompts.
