Manage uploads in Recent recordings
Manage uploads in the Recent recordings list on HappySupport Recorder's setup screen to retry failed uploads, open finished articles, or copy their links
The "Recent recordings" list on the HappySupport Recorder's setup screen shows the status of your uploads and lets you act on them: retry failures, open finished articles, or copy their links.
Find your recent recordings
-
Open the HappySupport Recorder
Open the HappySupport Recorder from your browser's extensions menu. If you're signed out, sign in first, then open the HappySupport Recorder again. It opens on the "Record new" setup screen. -
Locate the "Recent" section
Look below the setup form for the "Recent" section. Each row shows a recording's title and its current status. If there are no recent items, the section isn't shown.
Understand recording statuses
- Check the status of a recording
Each row displays one of these statuses:- "Waiting to upload"
- "Uploading" with a percentage
- "Writing the article…"
- A completion time (the article is ready)
- "Upload stopped"
- "You were signed out during the upload"
- "Couldn't write the article"
- "Couldn't read the linked repository"
- "Your plan's article limit is reached"
Retry a failed upload
-
Retry a stopped upload
If a row says "Upload stopped" or "You were signed out during the upload," click "Retry upload." The upload resumes and the row updates to show progress. If you were signed out, sign in before retrying. -
Retry a failed writing job
If a row says "Couldn't write the article," click "Retry writing" to try generating the article again. The control is temporarily disabled while the retry request is being sent. If the row says "Couldn't read the linked repository," "Retry writing" is also available, but the repository must be readable for the operation to succeed. -
Check your plan limit
If a row says "Your plan's article limit is reached," "Retry writing" isn't offered. You can monitor your account resource usage and limits to see where you stand.
Open or copy a ready article
-
Open a finished article
When an article is ready, click "Open article" to open it in a new browser tab. This action is also available while the article is still being written, as long as its link is already available. -
Copy the article link
Click "Copy link" to copy the article's link to your clipboard. The control briefly changes to "Copied," then returns to "Copy link" after about two seconds.
Items that disappear from the list
- Know why a completed item may vanish
The list reflects the latest response from the server. A completed recording can disappear if a fresh server response no longer includes it. This happens when the recording was deleted or belongs to another account. Unfinished uploads stay in your local queue regardless of server responses.
A brief notice may appear above the form after an upload starts or an article becomes ready ("Uploading in the background," "Uploaded, now in Recent," or "Ready"). It disappears after a few seconds; the "Recent" row is where the lasting status lives.
